Excellent Service Top Notch Super Friendly Clean place.Food good. The duck egg came shelled yum yummy. I'll be returning.

First time going since they changed owners. The food was tastey. Had the crispy gau gee mein with vegetables. So much to eat... only ate half and took the gau gee home for dinner. Noodles would have been too soggy..

Steamed Fish with ginger and scallions always a winner... huge crispy gau gee!

When they are careful, or the right chef is cooking, this restaurant can present very fine Cantonese cooking.......nuanced, perfect melding of spices, textures, very fresh and not overcooked. Occasionally however, it seems you get yesterday's food, salty sauce. The gau gee are grotesquely huge, ending up overcooked to cook it through. A caricature of true gau gee due to local tastes. So there is variability.

The food here is awsome.from the green tea served at the start of every meal that helps u to relax as it clenses youre palet for the explosion of what in my opinoin is top knotch chinese quizine hawaii has to offer. Hands down biggest gau gee in the 808 state ive ever seen. Must also try the crispy roast pork perfect crunch every time and suculent beyond all expectations goes very well with the shrimp fried rice. To top it all off with a sweet tapioca desert that litterally gets me asking for a portion more to take home snd hide and enjoy all by myself well my hunny can have a taste if shes a good girl lol. Although alot of times the service could be alot better but hey were only human u know ish happens n wen it does the food here will really hit the spot. But u know what they say seeing is believeing . I like to say have a taste n be amazed tell um kay bee sent u jk they prolly wouldent know me still ENJOY!!!

The Gau Gee is enormous and tasty, I mean almost the size of a chimichanga. The food was okay but I thought the Peking duck was kinda weak. Also bathroom is very old and only 1 stall. 1 pet peeve to mention... when having a party do not allow them to seat 10 per table. It's far to tight of a squeeze. Also no dish available for mustard/soy dipping sauce. Hate when you have to ask for it, especially when the shoyu and mustard are already on the table. They were good about refilling water as needed. BYOB, handy liquor store right next to the restaurant.

Fairly good chinese food! The wait staff is good and they give complimentary dessert!!

8.50 for a dinner plate at dinner two times. It's a winner. Very filling. Most places charge at least $10.00 or more for plate or bowl of noodles, ramen.Cant beat the price. Wife even looked it. So I'm happy.

The best crispy gau gee in the state! Waimalu special plate is my favorite lunch time choice. They also seem shrimp chips there too pretty cheap. Great service.

The owners have changed and the price of the food went up while the portions got smaller. And the food don't taste the same. It's such a shame because I really liked this place.

We Were Unfamiliar With The Area - Being From Maui (Where Good Chinese Food Is N/A) We Were Going Where My Stepdad Loved To Eat When He Was Younger.. And Boy Were We In For A Tasty Surprise !!! We Got There Fast From Town, He Knew The Back Roads To Avoid The Traffic. We Sat Down Around 2:30pm. And Only A Few Tables Were Filled, Grabbed A Booth And Were Greated By Angie Kai. !!! Great Lady Who's Been To Maui And Took Our Orders And Quickly Started To Bring Them To Our Table.. Wow Great Food Hot, And Delicious We We Soo Quiet All Of A Sudden.. We Highly Recommend Waimalu Chop Suey.!!!!! Thanks Angie !!! Awesome Yeah.!!!

Must be new owners again. We were all pretty disappointed with the taste and quantity of their food. We waited pretty long for someone to come back to take our order, we had to tell her we were ready. At the end I realized that even the gau gee want the same, they were regular sized!

The food is very good. But the waitresses has no personality at all. Grumpy and sassy. They demanded you what we should eat but i want me regular. They need better waitresses there

The food looked good but was largely tasteless. We had the roast duck, kau yuk, sweet sour spareribs, beef broccoli chow mein and roast pork. All tasteless except the roast pork which was salty. Been here before and the food wasn't like this so maybe a new cook or something. Very disappointed.

Was hungry for won ton mein... My family and I loved the food. Taste was great, very generous portion, they even gave us all tapioca on the house for dessert. Worth the money as well. We'll be back.

I like their wor (war?) wonton. The salt and pepper porkchops are pretty good, better to eat it their so they don't get soggy on the drive home. They have salted fish friend rice. :)

My husband ate at this restaurant in the late 60's as a child. This was a trip down memory lane for him. Everything was as remembered. He had his first experience with Chinese food here and he ordered his favorite Wor Won Ton Min. We had great service, prompt and friendly. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and we shared crispy Gau Gee with steamed vegetables. We had enough take home for 2-3 more meals. Everything was delicious. We will return!

Old time favorite lunch restaurant of in laws. So we visit it twice a year. Steamed fish for someone without their dentures is a great standby meal.

Waimalu chop suey customer service borders on rude to flat out rude. They will let you know when you have inconvenienced them. The food is just ok. Chun wah Kam is right next door. I'd go there.

The largest gau gee's I've ever seen/eaten. Nice and crispy, looks like they are using different wrappers which keeps them really crispy. Hate when the wrapper gets soggy. Everything else is up to par, good pricing too, my go to place in Waimalu. Oh, awesome won ton soup too, only place I order this from.

Truly great food!

I love Lemon chicken and tried about every place that has it on the Big Island. Waimalu Chop Suey thee best ever!!! Love this place!! And the monster size crispy gau gee!!
